Flavorseal Achieves SQF Level 3 Certification
May 16, 2014
Flavorseal, setting the standard in food processing technology for flexible food packaging within the food processing and foodservice industries, announced it has earned an SQF Level 3 certification for its facility located in Avon, Ohio.
“At Flavorseal, our goal has always been to maintain the highest quality manufacturing standards in our industry,” said Chris Carroll, president and owner of Flavorseal. “The SQF Level 3 certification recognizes our team’s effort and commitment to making food safety a top priority.”
The Safe Quality Food certification program was developed by the Food Marketing Institute to provide objective and verifiable proof to retailers and food manufacturers that a rigorous and credible food safety management system is in place. SQF certification is a voluntary process consisting of facility inspections and detailed reviews of record-keeping and safety procedures. Achieving SQF Level 3 certification means that an organization also has developed a quality-control program.
Flavorseal’s quality team is lead by the Director of Corporate Quality, Safety, and Regulatory, Gus Eskamani, PhD, CFS. A 30-year veteran of the food industry, Dr. Eskamani joined Flavorseal in 2011.
“The heart of the SQF Certification Program is the idea that producing quality products is the responsibility of every employee in the company, not just one department,” said Dr. Eskamani. “This is the idea we strive to follow at Flavorseal as well. Every person – from customer service to production to our shipping department – is an essential component to the process of making quality products.”
